psychology class

Hi.. this is for psychology class… it’s 3 different assignment.. that’s why I have requested 3 pages .. so 1 assignment =1 page .. The name of the book we will be using for this assignment is ; Essentials of Lifespan Development, John Santrock; 6e McGraw Hill Publishers….. First Assignment; Be sure you have reviewed the grading rubric for Discussion Boards. Remember there are minimum lengths and expectations of analysis and application of course concepts. You are expected to use the textbook as your first source and to cite in-text where you used the text information. A complete reference list is expected at the end of each discussion. In this activity, we will explore the theories of development and how each approaches the three basic issues in lifespan development. (Review the issues in Chapter 1). Look at this chapter from Sage Publications. I have uploaded the sage publication

First, review the 3 “grand” issues (nature/nurture, one course/many, continuity/discontinuity) of developmental psychology. Next, summarize your own views on these 3 issues. Third, choose one of the theorists discussed on pages 12-21. Which theory most closely matches your own ideas? What are the strengths of this theory? The limits? How does this theory deal with each of these issues? That’s the first assignment on one page.

The second assignment; Remember there are minimum lengths and expectations of analysis and application of course concepts. You are expected to use the textbook as your first source and to cite in-text where you used the text information. A complete reference list is expected at the end of each discussion. Chapter One discusses research issues which are central to psychology. One goal of the course is to help make you an educated consumer of research. As such, you should pay particular attention to the section on research issues. You might also want to review your introduction to psychology text on research issues.

After you have read this chapter, visit the following websites and read about psychology research

Once you have participated in a study, use the RESPOND button to answer the following:

First, give the title of the study in which you participated. Tell us who was doing the study, their affiliations and briefly describe the study.

What do you see as the 2 most critical considerations to question when reading research? Why? There are certainly more than 2 elements of a research study that are critical but when you read research, what do you think are the two most important issues? Please let me know if you face any difficulties.

3rd assignment; Be sure you have reviewed the grading rubric for Discussion Boards. Remember there are minimum lengths and expectations of analysis and application of course concepts. You are expected to use the textbook as your first source and to cite in-text where you used the text information. A complete reference list is expected at the end of each discussion. In this activity we will examine the issue of nature v. nurture, perhaps the most fundamental debate in psychology. Watch this link:

After looking at all of this information, you will assume the role of a genetic counselor. How would you advise a couple who has come in for genetic testing and counseling? What questions would you ask? Write out the exact script showing what you would say. After the script, explain why you ask the particular questions and be sure to support your answer.
